Moving from the previous stage of car seat to this booster seat, I was expecting a complex process when installing the seat. I was pleasantly surprised! The instruction manual comes tucked in a little pocket underneath one side of the seat (handy for keeping hold of as instructions for our previous car seats have disappeared never to be seen again). Removing the seat from the box, all you have to do is clip the base onto the back rest until it clicks and it is ready to place into the car and do the seatbelt up over the top. The manual is clear so installation is quite straight forward and shouldn’t take longer than 5 minutes. A big plus is the seat is super light, making it easy to take in and out without hassle.

My 4 year old son has been delighted with his new ‘big boy’ car seat. It is nicely padded with side impact protection, arm rests and is very comfortable (according to my son!) – although his favourite feature is the double cup holders…perfect for his drink (or toy cars…!). The headrest has 6 adjustable heights and we are only on the bottom height, so this chair has plenty of room to grow whilst keeping my son’s head safe.

The cover is machine washable so pretty easy to clean. No annoying tiny crevasses for crumbs to fall into as the chair is simply two parts – back and base.

If I had one criticism, it would be that the seat doesn’t latch onto the car (via Isofix etc). Whilst the seatbelt keeps the seat and my son firmly strapped into the car, if given the choice I would prefer an Isofix style attachment for added safety and security and to minimise any movement in the seat. But this is not a feature I would necessarily expect from a booster seat unless paying more of a top end price. For £40, this is an extremely reasonable price and a great booster seat.
