Breastfeeding course leader
For over 23 years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside families at one of the most transformative times in their lives. As a midwife, I’ve supported countless women through pregnancy, birth, and those precious early days with their babies. Each journey is unique, but they all share something in common: the need for compassionate, evidence-based care and someone who truly listens and willing to go the extra mile to support.
My path has also led me to specialise in infant feeding. During my time as an Infant Feeding Lead within an NHS hospital, I worked closely with both families and healthcare professionals to promote best practices in feeding support under the guidance of UNICEF. I was able to support the unit with achieving the Baby Friendly Accreditation. This role deepened my understanding of the challenges many parents face, particularly when it comes to breastfeeding and reinforced just how vital the right support can be.
Becoming a lactation consultant was a natural extension of that work. Feeding a baby is often expected to come instinctively, yet for many, it can be one of the most complex and emotional parts of early parenthood. Whether it’s navigating latching difficulties, low milk supply concerns, combination feeding, or simply needing reassurance, I’ve seen firsthand how tailored support can make all the difference.
What drives me is a commitment to informed choice. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to feeding or parenting. My role is to provide up-to-date information, practical guidance, and emotional support so families can make decisions that feel right for them without pressure or judgment.
As I continue this journey, my focus remains the same: to empower, support, and advocate for parents during one of life’s most profound transitions.
Remember, you don’t have to do it alone!
